Invitation letter
Once your nomination has been approved by the Community-based Fisheries Dialogue Advisory Group (CBFD-AG), you will receive an invitation letter with your attributed role for the Dialogue. This document details instructions on how to prepare for your trip to Noumea, including the logistics that are arranged by SPC and those for your action. Externally funded observers and other actors are to make their own arrangements to Noumea.
Flights and accommodation
Information on flights and accommodation is also detailed in the invitation letter from SPC. Travel and accommodation can be arranged by SPC for participants, but it is not for observers. Please refer to your invitation letter or contact: [email protected] if you have any questions.
Travel advice
- Your passport must be valid when travelling and contact details should be updated in case of any emergencies.
- Visas must be arranged by participants and at their own expense. Rates and legislation depend on your origin country. See below for the main transit countries' visa policies.
- Travel insurance is now mandatory when travelling to New Caledonia, and must be arranged at the participant’s expense. Former participants have been refused to board their flights in Fiji because they did not have travel insurance for their trip to Noumea.
Upon arrival
FAME staff will guide you to the event’s secretary, who will provide you with the key documents for the Dialogue (badge, programme, etc). Project assistants will also be present throughout the week to distribute per diems for eligible participants (per your invitation letter) and to assist with any issues or needs related to the Dialogue.
Practical tips
- Pack a change of clothes in your cabin luggage in case your checked baggage is delayed.
- Keep this emergency contact handy in case of difficulties during your journey to the Dialogue [email protected]
