CBFM Community of Practice

Join us in sharing your CBFM tales as we journey together for sustainable fishery for our communities!

Join the first CBFM Practitioners community and share your experiences, insights, and knowledge with fellow practitioners across the Pacific. Here, we unite to exchange insights, experiences, and best practices that drive the success of community-driven fisheries management. Our shared mission is to empower local communities to sustainably manage their aquatic resources, ensuring food security, preserving biodiversity, and maintaining the cultural heritage that is deeply intertwined with the marine environment.

This group is for:

  • Sharing stories: Tales from around the Pacific of challenges and success stories in community fisheries management.
  • Disseminating knowledge: Stay informed with the latest CBFM tools, guides, research findings, policy developments, and innovative management techniques for fisheries management.
  • Building capacity: Discover training programmes, workshops, and educational materials designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of CBFM practitioners.
  • Fostering partnerships: Connect with peers, experts, and organisations to form alliances that transcend geographical boundaries, united by a common purpose.
  • Advocating sustainability: Engage in advocacy efforts to promote policies and practices that support the resilience of marine ecosystems and the communities that depend on them.
